Busy Bees Foundation School implements the Rwanda National Curriculum for primary education. We teach every subject prescribed by the Competence Based Curriculum (CBC): Mathematics, Science and Elementary Technology, Social Studies and Religious Education, English, Kinyarwanda, French, Physical Education and Creative Arts. Alongside this, we run a wide range of co-curricular programmes such as clubs, debates, traditional dancing and talent shows.
Busy Bees Foundation School strives for language excellence. The school has adopted a language approach that uses French as the medium of instruction from the Nursery section through Primary 2, while English takes over as the medium of instruction in Primary 3 and the upper primary classes. We also foster interschool exchange and study trips to help our learners get exposure to what takes place in other schools and in real life at large.

Foundation Stage: Nursery & Primary One
The earliest years, where play, language and early numeracy in French build the confidence every learner needs to progress with ease.
Primary 2 to Primary 6
Learners transition to English as the medium of instruction, carrying them from foundational literacy to confident Primary 6 graduates.

Learning that keeps pace with a changing world.
The use of ICT in learning and teaching is very important to us, and we remind parents that keeping IT tools and internet access at home is crucial for their children’s effective education. At BBFS, not only ICT but every other subject is taught using technology - laptops, smart phones, tablets, projectors and internet access. Our offline “Internet in a Box” is a valuable resource, especially for reading and games that build learners’ critical thinking. We use a Learning Management System (LMS) for recording data, school reporting and communication, and Google Classroom to create classes, enrol learners, add our own lessons and track progress.

Busy Bees Foundation School is proud to offer a well-equipped library with a rich and diverse collection of books to support learners at all levels. Each class has a dedicated library period in its weekly timetable, during which pupils visit the library accompanied by their teacher.
Our School Librarian plays an essential role in guiding pupils, facilitating access to appropriate learning materials, and encouraging a culture of reading, research and independent learning.
