MasterCard Foundation Innovation Exhibition

At Kacyiru’s Kigali Heights Building, our pupils presented ICT-driven innovations: a hand water pump, a pneumatic door, Scratch programming for children, model cars and airplanes, guitars, and a basketball ground design.

Sport Never-Again 25 Karate Champions

Never-Again 25 Karate Champions

Our Karate teams won the trophy and two medals at the Never-Again 25 Karate Competitions, held at Rwanda National Stadium Amahoro in Remera.

Education Quality Award - 1st in Africa

BBFS won the 2018 Education Quality Award Program by Opportunity International, taking First Prize in the Africa-wide celebration.

Community Outreach - Giheka Village ECD

In line with our 3H approach (Head, Heart and Hand), BBFS learners visited Giheka Village ECD to support children affected by malnutrition. With their parents’ support, learners contributed small donations used to purchase milk, eggs and fruit - a joyful, impactful experience that fostered empathy and social responsibility.

Friendly Volleyball Match

BBFS hosted a friendly volleyball match with a neighbouring school, bringing teachers together in a spirit of teamwork, unity and shared enjoyment rather than competition.

Educational Trip to Nyirangarama

As part of our experiential learning approach, we planned visits to a farm and a juice-processing industry at Nyirangarama, giving learners practical exposure to agriculture and entrepreneurship.

Partnership Engagement - Edify Rwanda

BBFS hosted visitors from our partner, Edify Rwanda, sharing our background, achievements and growth journey, with discussions on how their capacity-building programmes have shaped the school’s future direction.

Learners’ Growth & Life Skills Sessions

Interactive sessions grouped learners by age (8–14 years) to guide them through personal growth and body development, with boys mentored by male teachers and girls by female teachers in a safe, supportive environment.

ITORERO Club - Cultural Values & Identity

Through IBIGANIRO discussions, pupils deepened their understanding of Rwandan values and identity: Ndi Umunyarwanda, Umuganda, Umuntu, Patriotism, Indangagaciro and the philosophy of Ubuntu - “I am because we are.”

Pupils showcased skills from Science, ICT, Environment, Art, Culture and Fellowship clubs to parents, neighbours, school leaders and teachers from other schools - and were interviewed by Flash TV journalists.

Pupils Talent Show

Pupils presented talents across sport, music, fashion, science, art, journalism and dancing, with gifts awarded to winners in front of a thrilled audience of parents and teachers.

Sport Competition - Volleyball

Esther House beat Debora House in the girls’ final; Joshua House beat David House in the boys’. The event promoted fitness, teamwork, discipline and healthy competition.

Educational Trip to Nyandungu Eco-Park

The nursery section and lower primary explored the Nyandungu Eco-Park in Gasabo District, discovering trees and birds in a serene, nature-based setting.

Educational Trip to Huye

Pupils visited the Rwanda Cultural Heritage Academy Ethnographic Museum in Huye District, exploring exhibits of Rwandan culture, history and ancient traditions, dances and music.

Staff Peer Learning

Teachers meet weekly to develop consistent handwriting techniques, build lesson plans collaboratively, and discuss class management, the SINIDI technique, learner assessment and reading/writing fluency strategies.

School Closure Event

A grand celebration marked the graduation of Nursery 3 pupils to Primary and Primary 6 pupils to Secondary level, with theatre, science and art performances, prayers and thanksgiving.

Tour: University of Rwanda & National Museum

Pupils and staff explored the University’s biodiversity and herbarium (plants preserved since 1915), then visited the Institute of National Museum of Rwanda, built in 1987, with seven galleries of ethnographic, artistic, historical and archaeological artifacts.

Agriculture & Livestock Exhibition, Murindi

Pupils and staff had a great chance to see different animals and crops at the exhibition.

Modern Charcoal Cooker Demonstration

Staff and parents learned about a modern charcoal cooker from Geni Green Solution Ltd; the school and several teachers purchased cookers for their families.

Umuganura Celebration

The school celebrated Umuganura, teaching learners the materials, meaning and history of the harvest festival - building relationships, friendship and happiness among pupils.
